Wedding Cake Booking

What could be a better way to spend an hour or two than eating cake……..this is what so many of my Wedding Cake customers say!!

My Wedding Cake consultations are held in my Sandbach studio, and are fun and informal, but at the end of the appointment you will have designed the cake of your dreams.

The consultations are free of charge and no-obligation – all I ask is that once you receive your quote you let me have your decision within a week, as I provisionally reserve your date when you come for your consultation.

During the Wedding Cake consultation, you will get to sample all of my core cakes, served with tea, coffee or soft drinks, and once you have tried them all we will then start to create your cake. (Make sure you are a little bit hungry – there are lots to try!!)

Once you have sampled the cakes, we will then discuss your colour scheme and wedding theme, plus how many guests you are catering for – or whether you want a stunning statement cake.

I am happy to take inspiration from ideas you have seen, and I also have lots of Wedding Cake magazines you can peruse to see if other ideas catch your eye, which we will then personalise to ensure your cake is truly bespoke.

Once we have a few ideas we will start to design your perfect Wedding Cake.

Firstly, we will look at size, depth and shape of your cake; once you have decided this you then choose your flavours (this can be the most difficult bit, as they are all delicious, and whittling them down takes some time!!)

Next, we will develop your bespoke design.

When we have finished this process, you will be amazed and delighted with the cake we have created – I promise!

After the consultation I will then work on the detail and email you a quote within a couple of hours. All it then takes to reserve your date is a £100 deposit, with the balance due one month before your wedding date.

Once your date is booked and your deposit paid, the price is set – no matter how far off your wedding may be, so you can rest assured this element of your budget will not increase (unless you change the design of course, which will require re-costing).

I will then also send you a copy of my Terms & Conditions – an example is available here – so you know your order is confirmed.

Due to Covid19 restrictions, I am currently only able to accommodate two people.

Pricing & Design

Cake information and pricing…Because my cakes are bespoke, they are individually designed to meet your own personal requirements, so I do not have a specific price list, however the cake images do show approximate portions and price.

Cake pricing depends upon the size of the cake, the complexity of the design and the time it takes to decorate the cake. Generally it takes at least two days to make and decorate a small single-tier cake.

For your cake, just let me know what you want & I’ll get a quote straight back to you – please try to give me some information such as how many people you need it for, as the size does affect the price.

If you are not sure what size you will need, just let me know how many it is for and I’ll let you know the best size for your event. Generally, a 3″ deep cake is cut into 1″x2″ portions, and deeper tiers are cut into 1″x1″ portions. Unless otherwise stated, the portions given are 1″x2″x3″

As a guide, a sponge cake on an iced cake board, with an iced message, ribbon trim and either an edible image or simple sugarpaste decoration would be from –

8″ round £70; 8″ square £80
10″ round £90; 10″ square £100
12″ round £110; 12″ square £120

Edible models start from £6 each for animal characters and £10 each for simple people or cartoon models.

Shaped number cakes start from £75 for a Number 1, on an iced board, with an iced message and ribbon trim.

Detailed 3D car cakes with personalised number plates start from £100

Wedding Cakes are always bespoke, and the final price depends upon the tier sizes, plus the complexity of the design, so it is always best to contact me for a no-obligation quote – or why not come for a tasting session – again no-obligation.

I can incorporate any colours, sugar paste flowers or themes to reflect your event, ensuring that your special cake is one that you will love. Obviously if you want a very detailed design or model this is reflected in the price, but I will quote the full price so you know exactly what you are getting. I do not provide fresh flowers – these must be provided by you or your florist, but I am happy to liaise with your florist regarding positioning the flowers.

You also need to be aware items such as sugar paste flowers etc may contain wires as a necessary part of their construction – if this is the case though I shall always make you fully aware of anything on your cake that is not edible. Where-ever possible I try to make my cakes 100% edible.

Tip – If you need extra portions consider a cutting cake which is generally a less expensive option than adding extra tiers.

So you know your cake is booked, I offer a Save the Date scheme, where a non-refundable deposit (£100 for Wedding Cakes, 50% of the price for all others) secures your date in my calendar.

I’m sorry but I cannot state that my cakes are nut / dairy / gluten-free. If you require a “free-from” cake I am happy to do so, but it will be produced in the same kitchen as all my other cakes – I will make it when I am not working on other cakes but you need to be aware the kitchen is used for all other cakes.
